HOW THE SCHOOL SUPPORTS WHATS IMPORTANT Brainstorm how the high school facilities will assist in the support of community & educational goals and practices, the importance of flexibility to accommodate current and future programs, share next-steps and next community meeting date. Planning Strategies for organizing requested programs and uses on the high school site and within building components. Welcome & Introductions Overview of project progress Community engagement updates Community Working Groups: Summary of work to date Space Programming: How facilities WILL support educational and community needs Small Group Work & Report-outs: Building/Site Organizational Strategies (puzzle exercise) Homework & Next steps This community workshop will engage participants in the exploration of functional and organizational strategies for the school building and site. The bulk of the workshop will include small group brainstorming, using scale-models of building components like puzzle pieces to be placed on the existing site. Each participant group will assemble their scale-model puzzle-pieces to represent ideas for how best to conceptually organize the building and site. In addition to the existing site components, a collection of puzzle pieces representing the pool facility, academic areas, PE/Athletics, core classrooms, library/media center, etc. will be available to all groups to arrange on the site map as we solicit community expertise and insights into the overall conceptual site and building layouts.
