Behavior Intervention Plan

*Refusal to follow directions: saying no, crumbling up and scribbling on work *Leaving his assigned area without adult permission *Yelling: negative interactions with adults/peers *Aggressive behaviors towards adults (i.e hitting, kicking, spitting, biting)

Year: 2013-2014

Preventative Strategies:
*Structured schedule, knows what to expect *Behavior chart (+ did his job, 0 did not do his job). *Constant responses regarding calm down breaks and level breaks. *Redirect early to desired task *Reminders of what can be earned. *Monitor transitions closely, manage opportunities for him to stay in appropriate area. *Provide academic accommodations in all subject areas. *Reinforce for appropriate behaviors, absence of inappropriate behaviors

Teaching Strategies:
*Use behavior chart to define point system for level system. *Provide independent activities at independent level (kindergarten/first grade) *Continue to reinforce for appropriate behaviors: (allow adults to be in charge, saying yes to adults, raising hand, staying in designated area, safe hands/feet) *Reinforce appropriate behaviors often (i.e use of calm down breaks), make sure break minutes are appropriate (5 minutes) *Close proximity *Provide assistance when needed, encourage *Raise hand, use manners in order for adults to respond (ignore noises and shout-outs until he raises hand).
