HIDDEN

BY HELEN FROST

Hidden is a book about two girls Wren Abbott and Darra Monson. When they are eight years old, Darra's father steals a minivan. He doesn't know that Wren is hiding in the back. In the following hours and days the lives of both girls drastically change. Years later, the girls face each other for the first time at a summer camp. They can finally learn the truth-that is, if theyre willing to reveal to each other the stories that they've hidden for so long. The book is told from alternating viewpoints, in poems. It reveals the complexities of memory and the strength of a friendship that can overcome pain.

About The Book

Hidden by Helen Frost is the book I have read for my contemporary fiction genre In response I will be creating a found poem Take words from the text that youre reading and highlight them or rearrange them to create a poem. Consider making a copy of a page and then either using a marker or a colored pencil to highlight key words or cutting out those words to rearrange them. Have fun with the poembut remember that your poem must show understanding of the theme.
