Unicellular and Multicellular Organisms

Unicellular organisms are made up of one single cell.

Multicellular organisms are made up of two or more cells.

Sort the pictures in two groups: Unicellular Organisms and Multicellular Organisms.

Cell Stations!
Station 1: The Living Cell Video
Watch the video and answer the questions.

Station 2: Draw the Cell (square shaped)

Station 3: Draw the Cell (circle shaped)

Station 4: Draw the Cell (oval shaped)
Draw the cell (list of what to draw is at the station). Guess if it is unicellular/multicellular and why. Guess if it is a plant, animal, or bacteria cell.

Lets Talk Cells

Unicellular
We know unicellular organisms are made up of one cell. Single-celled organisms can usually only be seen through a microscope. These organisms include bacteria and some algae.

Multicellular
We know multicellular organisms are made up of two or more cells. These small cells work together to make one large organism. These organisms can include humans, animals, and plants.

Cell Stations
Station 2 = plant cell (from a multicellular organism) Station 3 = animal cell (from a multicellular organism) Station 4 = bacteria cell (unicellular organism)
