Hello Parents/Guardians, I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself.

My name is Kevin Zdenek, a student teacher from Drake University, and I will be working with your student for the next few months in Mrs. Schaffers 5th grade classroom. I am very excited to spend time at Carver Elementary getting to know your child! I am a returning student pursuing a Masters degree in elementary education with an additional endorsement in special education. After working in creative design for many years, I decided to make a career switch when my daughter was diagnosed with special needs. She has been an inspiration to me and, as I work toward completing my degree, I imagine the type of teacher she deserves and strive to become that teacher for all my students. My hope is to create a classroom environment that fosters respect and discovery for every child, where each students prior knowledge and abilities are built upon each day with purpose.
