I highly recommend Scott Niemann for the Arlington School District Executive Director of Personnel. I have been a Burlington-Edison School Director for the last two years and Board president since December 2009.In that time I have had the opportunity to get to know Scott in his current role as principal of Lucille Umbarger Elementary School. While others are in a better position to comment about his administrative knowledge and day-to-day performance, I can offer my observations of his skills and attributes -- ones which would I would expect you e looking for in a successful candidate.
Scott always displays considerable enthusiasm and a positive attitude which in tum has a way of becoming contagious for all in his presence. He is very professional and approachable which I believe sets the stage for his great listening and speaking skills. I have observed him develop respectfrrl and collaborative working relationships in a variety of work settings which include parents, teachers, administration and community members. With a significant population of Hispanic students at Lucille Umbarger School, Scott has developed outreach progrrms with students and family members that are both effective and culturally sensitive. When he makes presentations to the School Board about issues he faces as principal I find him innovative and good at problem solving. Scott is an effective school leader who is involved and dedicated to providing our students a world class education. I am cerain he would be a great asset to have on the Arlington Public Schools team.
