Being a stay at home mother I have to take most of my cues from my children and how we work through tough

words and their spelling. Though, ELLs have a much more difficult road I do think that what is tricky for children learning English as their primary language is what will also be most tricky for ELLs. I chose the white/night pairing because the silent e is !ust a difficult concept to understand. I have heard of a few different ways to teach the silent e and one way was to use a song. "ung to #hat does the $o% say . & a says ahh, and i says ih, o says oh, and u says uh. But there s one sound that no one knowsssss, #hat does the silent e say...'everyone dances around without making any noise(.
