Studies of structural masonry over the last five decades.

The main goal is to study the reinforcement with welded wire mesh to improve the structural performance.

Scope: to build two full scale walls for testing in the Structures Laboratory PUCP.

Specific objectives will allow us to know the characteristics have the confined tubular masonry after it was reinforced.

To study the reinforcement with welded wire mesh on the wall surface. G
(Araoz y Velezmoro, 2012)

To determine mechanical characteristics of small reinforced walls. E

To dertermine if the vertical load deteriorates the behavior in the reinforced walls.

The confined masonry is a structural system of walls, these resist lateral and vertical loads.

(Alcocer y Pineda, 2004)

(Salinas y Lazares, 2007)

The welded wire mesh prevents the early appearance of diagonal cracks controlling the crushing of the bricks, it improves the seismic behavior of reinforced walls.
(Araoz y Velezmoro, 2012)

The methodology and work plan will be made according to the objectives.

Theories and information gathering for experimentation.

(50 hours)

Technical and logistical planning for building and execution of samples in the structures laboratory. (60 hours)

Experimentation is essential because it allows us to simulate effects that might occur when an earthquake acts.

Experimentation work will be performed in the structures laboratory of the PUCP. (150 hours)

Analysis, interpretation and trend graphs. (90 hours)

Tubular masonry is dangerous as a structural system and propose a kind of reinforcement is important in a seismic event.
