Communication Work Plan Name: Nichole Phillips Title: Keep it Moving at your library Client: H3TV Brief description:

Avila University Corporate Communication students were asked to come up with a way to market H3TVs Keep it Moving initiative to preschool-aged children. I would like to hold a live show at one or more local public libraries in conjunction with their summer reading program.

Need/Opportunity: H3TV is a new Childrens Health and Wellness program in the process of launching its first 13 episode series with PBS. Music, Magic & a Message is a movement to connect with people using music, magic and the mind. The Healthy Hip Hop contains current, popular beats and music style. The lyrics influence listeners to adapt positive lifestyles. The Magic demonstrates that with dedication and effort, we can to do the unimaginable. Avila University Corporate Communication students were asked to come up with a way to market this program to preschool-aged children. H3 currently has partnerships with elementary schools across Kansas City and Johnson County, but would like to start encouraging positive lifestyles at an even earlier age.
As a new way to market the H3TV brand, I would like to hold a live show at one or more local public libraries, possibly in conjunction with their summer reading program. Once a relationship is established with the libraries, there is copious opportunity for more involvement with story times and home-school programs.

Target Market: Preschool-aged children Research: Demographics: The population of Jackson County is 677,377 39.7% of which are women between the ages of 20 and 44, 18% are over 65, and 28% of the children are 4 and under. Missouris average income level is $44,306. Geographics: Mid-Continent Public Library is located on Blue Ridge Blvd, a suburb of Kansas City located in Southern Missouri. Psychographics: The program is for preschool-aged children, so really we will be marketing to parents of young children whom primarily will fall under Generation X and

Millennials. Generation X values freedom, responsibility, family, and espouse a work hard/play hard mentality. Like Generation X, the Millennial generation is comfortable with technology. Tightly scheduled as children and used to having every hour of their day filled with structured activity, they may sacrifice their own identity to be part of the team. They dislike selfishness and are oriented toward service learning and volunteerism. Goals and Objective: Goal: Get preschool aged children involved in the Keep it Moving initiative Objective: To have this plan selected for real world implementation Solution Overview:
H3TV is a Childrens Health and Wellness program in the process of launching its first 13 episode series with PBS. H3 entertainers Rappin Roy and Reggie Regg have combined exercise and education in a new interactive program called Keep It Moving. This unique five-week program uses H3 (Healthy Hip Hop) music coupled with creative, fun physical and mental activities. The lessons promote healthy food choices, exercise, teamwork and positive social interaction. The program educates and empowers students to be positive and healthy. This program can also be adjusted and tailored as needed. I would like H3TV to partner with the Mid-Continent Public Library and facilitate the Keep it moving program as part of the summer reading program. The program would kick off with a

live performance with Rapping Roy & Reggie Regg the Magic Man. The purpose of the show is to get the kids active, engaged and excited about participating in the ongoing programs. Next the students start the Keep It Moving program. This five-week program engages kids to stretch and dance/workout with Rapping Roy & Reggie Regg the Magic Man. The educational component comes after the dancing session with a fun and easy workbook for the kids to fill out. Upon completion each student will get the DVD and H3 workbook to take home. Each facility where the program is implemented will be provided our Keep It Moving Dance Mats and Eat 2 Win board games, to continue the fun and learning. Facilities who do not wish to subscribe for $9.99 a month have the option to: Pay a one-time fee of $30 for each Keep it Moving Kit Pay $20 for a facilitator to come out and help expedite the program ** Those who commit to a one year subscription to the program at $9.99/month will receive a free Keep it Moving Kit. Existing H3 Merchandise (included in kit):

Key messages for the event: Keep it Moving at Your Library Tactics and communication vehicles (suggestions) 1. Media kit: This would not be a typical media kit because H3TV already has one that they use, but as one of the prizes that kids can win through the summer reading program I would have something similar to a media kit. It would be a make your own puppet show kit with a sample script featuring Hip & Hop and I would include marketing materials for H3TV in the kit. 2. T-shirt: Summer Reading T-shirts would be for :Keep it Moving at your library 3. Tag Line: Keep it Moving at Your Library 4. Flyers/Posters 5. Social Media Facebook Banner for H3TVs Facebook page. Pinterest-can pin poster-image of Hip and Hop with link to H3TV website 6. Letter to Mid-Continent Library Director Implementations and Challenges: The greatest challenge here would be to make the contacts necessary to put this plan into action. The H3TV team would need to reach out to the necessary people within the library to get approved as part of the Summer reading program. Measurement/Evaluation: The following survey would be distributed to families whose children participated in the program.

Sample Survey: 1. Did you enjoy the performances by H3TV stars Rapin Roy, Reggie Regg the Magic Man, and Hip & Hop? 2. What was your favorite part of the program? 3. Would you like to see H3TV come back to your Library in the future? 4. Do you plan to continue the Keep it Moving program at home with your children? 5. In the future, how can we improve this program?
