Focus : Listening and Speaking Theme : World Of Self, Family and Friends Unit 1 : Hooray! We Are Back Topic : Getting to Know a New Friend Content Standard: 1.1 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to listen and respond appropriately in formal and informal situations for a variety of purposes. Learning Standard : 1.2.1 Able to participate in daily conversations : (a) exchange greetings (b) introduce oneself Objectives : By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to : a) Know their friends names b) Talk about themselves c) Introduce themselves to their friends. Activities : 1. The teacher introduces herself to the pupils. 2. The teacher asks pupils to introduce themselves to their friends one by one. 3. The teacher explains the usage of question mark and full stop. 4. The teacher and the pupils read the example of asking and answering questions in the textbook. (pg 2) 5. The teacher calls a few pupils to come in front and practice asking and answering themselves with each other in a circle. 6. The teacher calls two pupils to act out the phone conversation. 7. In pairs, the pupils practice the dialogue with their friends. 8. The teacher checks the pupils previous knowledge of phonemes in Year 1. Teaching Aids : Textbook & flash cards.
