Mapp v. Ohio was a case based on the police arresting Dollree Mapp after an illegal search for a fugative. They found obscene material and she appealed it on the basis of freedom of expression (1st amendment). The court ignored the 1st amendment basis and used the fourth amendment instead. They said that the evidence was obtained illegally and could not be used to arrest her. This decision was ma or because it created the exclusionary rule which states that all evidence illegally obtained could not be used.
