It offer a programming model that is familiar to web developers, Silverlight is programmed using a text bases mark-up language format and a JavaScript running inside browser`s script engine. With Silverlight helps building application that wont be possible using only AJAX and HTML, this includes applications witch integrate media, animation and text. Rich Internet Application Architecture Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) combine the maturity, stability and scalability of service orientation with state of the art display technology to create the next wave of web based distributed applications. RIA is typically delivered either by way of a site-specific browser, via a browser plug-in. Adobe Flash, Java and Microsoft Silverlight are currently the three top frameworks that apply RIA. Silverlight Application Architecture Silverlight architecture is based on eXtensible Application Markup Language (XAML) which is XML based that what makes Silverlight cross-platform crossbrowser plug-in. XAML provide a unified way to declare graphics, media, animation, text and layout.

Silverlight applications are created using a combination of Expression Studio (Expression Design, Expression Blend, and Expression Encoder) and Visual Studio 2008 SP1 or later.
