Senior Portfolio Committee: I am writing this letter in order to prove I am highly prepared for college.

As a charter school, Buckingham has exposed me to higher level thinking and has forced me to challenge myself and try new things. By choosing Buckingham over other schools, it has helped me discover who I am, and who I want to become when I am older. The resources available to the students at Buckingham are truly amazing. Buckingham has changed my plans for the future in numerous ways. I always thought I would exactly follow my sisters footsteps and take AP classes. However Buckingham gave me the opportunity to take classes through Solano which gave me dual credits and saved my family a significant amount of money. Buckingham has also assisted me in realizing what my career plans are. For example, I found my true wish in life was to pursue a career in filmmaking. I could not have discovered this without our amazing film program, our vma, and our wonderful teachers in that department. Since Buckingham is so geared toward doing your best in school, I always worked as hard as I could during my high school years. This allowed me to receive High Honors three years in a row, which makes me extremely proud. As soon as I graduate from Buckingham, I will prepare myself to move to San Jose State University so that I may attend school in there in the fall. I plan to receive my Bachelors Degree for the Radio/Television and Film program at San Jose State University. I have already spoken to a professor from San Jose. She recommended that for my major, I talk to a counselor within my first semester so I can strategically plan out the classes I need to take and how many credits I need to take per semester in order to graduate within four years. Within these years, I plan to find internships for my career and participate in film festivals that are available to the students. I am more than excited to continue on with my life and further my education. I am also very grateful for the time I spent at Buckingham and will most definitely miss all of the great friends I have met there. Buckingham is by far the most caring school I have ever attended and has given me opportunities that I cannot receive from other schools.
