Your submission is colorful and eye-catching. I wish you gave the viewer a greater sense of location/space in your colored pencil component. Your collage pieces are cut out, but more time could have been spent carefully trimming margins. Your use of several colors is nice; I wish you worked more slowly to avoid color streaks and blank areas. Your cutouts are engaging, but I wish they set a scene and were not arranged to just look silly. You have a great selection of illustrations, but I am unsure of the location/setting. Your project is complete, but looks a bit rushed. Spending more time trimming your cutouts and drawing with colored pencil would have given your thought process direction. Overall, this is a well-done project. Your variety of illustrations is eye catching, and you cleaned up well after each class.

Student: Your Surrealist mixed-media collage is fun and very creative. Your combinations of random cutouts, especially your incorporation of written text, is great. For future consideration, I suggest spending more time trimming your cutouts and practicing the colored pencil drawing techniques to avoid white streaks on the page. Lastly, I am a bit lost looking at your very creative collage. Where are we? Even though your cutouts are silly and keep my attention, I wish that through your drawing you gave some sense of direction or space. Good work!
