Most of our patients know what they need to do to have healthier lifestyles alreadyits just that the way

our healthcare system is currently structured, they have no real incentive to do so. The solutions to the problems mentioned above are complex but certainly will not simply be solved by providing better education, patient tracking tools or having patients more informed regarding their care. What we need is to make patients actually have a stake and incentive in improving their care. This certainly can be accomplished with some appropriate user fees, progressive insurance rates for unhealthy behaviors, and overall personal empowerment.
