Narrative: Brielle Tegan The Letter Finally, Ive found a place to settle for the night; a cold spot

of clear land in the forest floor with massive trees surrounding me. Starting a small fire I sit there gripping the hopeful crumbled letter and reminisce on how our world had become what it is and what to do next. I had been a member of the Lost Cause group; they had planned a risky mission I knew would end up in flames, a plan that involved killing our Dictator, Elliot Jaxon of the fifth realm. Two weeks ago our group leader, Lukas Hudson, was sentenced to death after 28 years in prison and exasperatingly trying to exonerate him. Our co-leader, Harold, took over. After crisis had struck the rest of the world due to major climate change, hunger, and crime, the surviving realms sailed to Madagascar where they had started a new life, a new life consisting of Eugenics. My group was furious at this outrageous superficial lifestyle and wished to put an end to it without any attention on us, and so found cover in an underground member camp on Madagascar. Until one fateful day, our supposedly safe and secret camp was compromised. Hundreds of soldiers with their newest weaponry burst from above and took us captive. What came next has traumatized me and changed the fate of the world forever, because the key to our problems was now in my hands. They took us to an abandoned prison in the middle of the forest where they tortured us endlessly for speaking out against the government. Harold tried many a times to convince the soldiers to release us but keep him. His heroism seemed to have entertained the soldiers and gave them more of a reason to beat him senseless. I was too afraid to speak up fearing what they would do to me, even so much as a look to them was a hit to head with the butt of their shiny rifles. They would put us in individual cells and interrogate or beat us until we confessed whatever they thought we knew. What felt like a week later, they brought us all into a main room and sat us in a circle, one of the younger members of our group had passed out due to exhaustion, and the guards would not accept this so they kicked him unconscious which infuriated me. Out of nowhere I jumped up from our beating circle with the strength I had left and punched the guard in the face. He grabbed me by the arms with a grip so tight I lost feeling with his touch. He threw against the wall at an alarming speed and knocked the wind out of me managing to disillusion my visions temporarily. Before he could do it again, there through the door came in our Fifth Realm Dictator, Mr. Jaxon. He was wearing a large black suit of the finest material I cannot name but shimmered with every movement he made. He looked like a corrupted king and strides in as if he were wearing a royal robe with his shoulders broaden and nose in the air. He looks down at us through the top of his dark glasses almost with a pity smirk look. What have we here, he says in a low raspy toned voice, a couple of wannabe rebels? Harold sat up high not saying a word but kept his dignity. Dont you remember what

Narrative: Brielle Tegan happened to, oh what was his name? Ah Lukas, right? Such a pity he was such a strong leader, Jaxon said with the biggest menacing smile on his face. He takes his dark glasses off and places them inside his jacket pocket and pulls out an envelope labeled Classified. We looked in awe and confusion at this document wondering what it could. He walked around the room to where I lay on the floor, grabbed an AK-47 and hit me in the back of my head; he then proceeded to rip the snow white envelope open reading the confidential information. We were confused as to why he would tell us this information, but all at once we seemed to have the same though, They are going to kill us after this. The letter stated that there was an island, named Iceland, an additional Eighth realm, which contains the life we had before global crisis. The other Seven Dictators had not mentioned this because they want the human race to end but continue the Eugeneration and form their own perfect army. Iceland was the last known land to be unaffected by the rest of the world and currently holds no eugenics. All at once our eyes lit up with hope by the promising information we were just given and almost immediately at once knew what the future holds for us in this abandoned prison. But then Harold hints at me with his eyes to take the letter, which the Dictator had thrown on the floor, and run for the exit since the guards were now on the other side of the room and I was lying at the feet of the Dictator. I shook my head knowing that was a death sentence for all of us but Harold persisted in staring me down, his eyes said it all, the obvious mission at hand, my duty as a member, and the goodbyes. I sat there with adrenaline rushing through my whole body and, knowing there was no time to lose, took a deep breath, grabbed the letter from the floor near me where the Dictator threw it and jumped up with my wobbly knees as the alarm went off and resounded. I made my way to the door while the group I left behind all jumped up and starting fighting the guards away from the exit. Many gunshots were fired but I knew I couldnt turn around now. Surprisingly, there were not any soldiers outside; probably thinking the rebels would never do anything this stupid. I ran for the cover of the forest and felt pelting bullets at the heel of my feet. I ran and ran gripping the letter tighter each foot. I had no idea where I was going but I knew where not to go: our underground sanctuary and the city. They had eyes everywhere in those two parts and no doubt I would be caught in an instant. But because we had just civilized ourselves on this island they had no surveillance in the forest yet. I thought I could keep running but how much forest is left for me to run. After making many detours and covered my tracks and scents I am now settled here with the letter still in my hand. Every noise I hear I fear is the end of my life. All I know is that they have my name and my face. Here I am with the hope of rescuing the human race from this evil plan but no allies and no plan.
