Is it obviously explained? Is the key issue related to the ELT/SLA/FLL methodology? Has the paper managed to relate the literature to the chosen context? Is the language clearly and academically used? Is the choice of words proper? any examples of non-academically used words? Maturity use of reporting words? (e.g. claim/argue/contend/ propose, etc.? Is the literature superficially or deeply discussed? Are the previous works properly illustrated and compared? My own narrative alongside the previous works clearly evidenced? Is the essay critically analyzed or more descriptive than critical? Exploration is properly delivered (or it is too much/little)? Is my own exploration apparently enough? (in the discussion section) Is there any items NOT properly or sufficiently addressed? Which needs more expansion/clarification? Is there any contradiction in the presentation of the ideas? Is there any irrelevancy?

Is the topic clearly focused? What about any point that might require more expansion? Relevant to the focus of the study? Any author who should not be there? Are the in-text citations and the reference list correctly presented? Are there any unreliable (non-peer-reviewed) resources? Is there any misrepresentation of the secondary resources, if any, in terms that they might be presented as secondary while they are not (a scholarship problem?)
