It has been a month since I have wrote you last and I have a few findings to update on: After performing a resource analysis it was found that there are a number of resources that are over allocated in the POM+ Project. There is an over allocation of the marketing staff, R&D, and the legal staff. These resources are over allocated in the following activities: shelf life report, nutrition report, market testing, select distributors, complete FDA certification, and register trademark. Assuming that the project is time constrained, I tried to resolve any over allocation of resources by leveling within slack. Although leveling within slack helps the problem, it does not solve it. After leveling within slack the only resource that is now over allocated is R&D. The impact of leveling within slack doesnt affect the sensitivity of the network. The finish date would still be Thursday, 7/12/12. Assuming that the project is resource constrained, I then tried to resolve any over allocation of resources by leveling outside of slack. Although this completely fixes the problem of resources being over allocated, it has an impact on the finish date of the project. The finish date would be a week from the original finish date, Thursday, 7/19/12. I hope these facts help you in making a decision on how to handle the current problem of over allocation of resources.
