WELCOME TO JOIN THE SPRING SESSION

The Kensington Parkwood PTA is pleased to sponsor chess lessons with Chess Master Arkadiy Frenkel. Arkadiy has over 25 years experience teaching chess and is one of the best teachers of the Victor Sherman Chess School. He has taught at Catonsville Community College, Potomac ES, Ashburton ES, Stone Mill ES, Farmland ES, and many other schools. Students with or without chess experience are welcome. Students will be grouped for lessons and games based on their ability. Beginners will learn how to play chess, while more experienced students will work on improving their strategy. A portion of each class is devoted to instruction and a portion to play. Chess teaches kids to think before they act. They learn strategy, sportsmanship and about the consequences of their decisions. Its also a lot of fun! Trophies and awards are given at the end of this session! Time/Place: Tuesdays from 89am, the Media Center
