WSHA Board meeting notes- 6 pm on October 2nd, 2013Renaissance Hotel- IMASH- Denver Colorado Ryan called the meeting

e meeting to order Present- Janelle Smith, Chris Victor, Katie Sherwood, Christiane Dechert, Sue Torney, Debbie Krist, Lynda Coyle, Kathy Ross- there was not enough voting members present to vote at this meeting Secretarial notes reviewed from previous meeting No treasurer report was presented as Justin was not in attendance OLD Business Kathy reported that the IMASH registration as of Oct. 2nd was 360. The conference needs at least 400 attendees to break even. It was thought we would get that number of attendees as many register the morning of the conference. The vendor count was 34 for this conference. There will again be 50/50 and silent auction to raise funds Reports of states attending and the current numbers they have registered are as follows: o Utah- 10 o Wyoming- 104 o Colorado- 198 o Idaho-42 Ryan was going to bring up at the Wyoming state business luncheon if we want to continue IMASH. Has it passed its time, should other states be invited? Christiane reported we have 147 WSHA members as of the conference Chris Victor reported the consumer page with links to documents like ASHA for the WSHA website. E.g. parent links, stroke links etc. She was also wanting to ask the membership via a survey what they would like to see on the website. Chris discussed the all child accessible playgrounds- currently on the website there are none in Wyoming- npr.org/playgrounds o We all know there are accessible ones that we can take pictures or simply add the name and information about that playground to the website. o It was discussed donating money to a park in Cheyenne, highly visible for our organization at the state capital? o Should members be asked to make donations at registration was another idea. o It was recommended this information be presented at the state luncheon Beverly McEntire CEU chair reported some people previously expressed interest to be the CEU chair, this will be followed up at a later time

We were granted our 5 year re-certification for CEUs It is to be known this is a appointed position Public Awareness chair- Christiane has nothing to report Nothing had been added to the summer newsletter. It will be discussed at a later time only compiling one 3-4 times a year. Deb Krist discussed the ACE awards- she will present these at the State luncheon Scholarship committee had made their decisions of the recipients, they were notified and Justin will be getting them their money this spring. NEW Business- (open) CEU-none President elect sue Torney- nothing to discuss Possible seal education position applicant- Tiffany Johnson- we have not heard back from her Ryan and Lindsey will be attending SEESAP- this is the day before ASHA in Chicago- they will report back how it went and what they were able to learn Cathy reported on Jessica Bulada- she wanted WSHA to be aware of the pediatric audiological clinic and conference- it is always the same time and is held in Jackson, WY. We have invited them to attend our conference to acquire a larger number of audiologists They suggested we have a one day SLPs and 1 day audiologist- we as SLPs did not want to see losing a full day of courses and conference. Could they possibly organize strictly the audiologist tract? This will be discussed with them further at another time and reported back. Next meeting will be held Dec/Jan. with go to meeting phone conference call Ryan presented the certificate of recognition WSHA received, he will also present this at the conference state luncheon meeting Meeting was adjourned by Ryan at 7:15 pm
