Dear Sir or Madam: I am honored to write a few remarks in support of Natalie urrow! As the ad"isor of our hi#h s$hool $hapter of National %onor So$iet& 'Martin (! all), m& N%S offi$ers partnered with Natalie and other students from West Ottawa High School nei#h*orin# %+,( -olle#e to plan, or#ani.e, and run an inau#ural develops competent, confident, and /Dan$e caring citizens. 'mini) Marathon0 at the hi#h s$hool le"el to *enefit a lo$al $harit& '%elen De1os -hildren2s %ospital), as well as a follow3up this &ear! %+,( -olle#e has hosted their own 24 hour marathon for &ears, with #reat su$$ess! Natalie ser"ed as a liaison *etween the two s$hools and was instrumental in the su$$ess of our 4est +ttawa marathon 'raised 56,000 the first &ear, and 521,000 this &ear7)! She was in$redi*l& or#ani.ed, patient, dedi$ated, and responsi*le! She o"ersaw e8e$uti"e $ommittees '$omprised of *oth $olle#e and hi#h s$hool students), fa$ilitated weekl& whole #roup fa$e3to3fa$e meetin#s, as well as en$oura#ed online su*3$ommittee $olla*oration and the $reation and utili.ation of "arious so$ial media to $ommuni$ate and plan, as well as promote the e"ent '9a$e*ook #roups : pu*li$ and pri"ate, ;witter, <oo#le sites, "ideos on =ou;u*e, et$!)! 4hile there were se"eral different $ommittees 'pu*li$it&, fundraisin#, patent3famil& relations, et$!), Natalie had a role in all of them! She learned to na"i#ate the often unfriendl& *ut ine"ita*le *ureau$ra$& in"ol"ed in fundraisin# 'forms, and more forms, and seekin# permission from numerous people), date $onfli$ts, time $onstraints, and $ompetiti"e room *ookin#s with aplom*! ;he entire administrati"e team at the hi#h s$hool 'all fi"e prin$ipals) $ame to the Dan$e Marathon and were impressed with its e8e$ution : $lear dire$tions, enou#h food, positi"e atmosphere, et$! In *rief, Natalie was unflappa*le! She was patient and understandin#, prepared and thorou#h! She was an inspirin# leader for m& students to emulate and work with, and we hope to do so a#ain if she will reprise her role for ne8t s$hool &ear!
