Age Ratings
To find out what my target audience will be I researched age ratings on the BBFC website.

I have found out that many horror films are rated fifteen. If the film is rated fifteen there can be strong threat but nothing sadistic or sexualized. The strongest gory images are unlikely to be acceptable.
Stronger horror films containing strong horror, gore or sustained threat that exceeds the boundaries of a fifteen rated film is rated eighteen.

Audience case study

After researching the two different age ratings that I thought applied to my film I have chosen to have my film as a 15. The reason for this is because my film will have fake blood and organs but not too extreme for it to be an 18 rated film. Looking at my questionnaire 60% of the people I asked were aged between 15-20 year olds. Also after looking at the BBFC website I have chosen for my film to be for a 15 + audience. Because my film is about an old woman who creates life size dolls out of humans, I have chosen for my film to be for a female audience aged 15-20+. I think that it would appeal to a female audience more so than a male audience. Because of the concept of the film itself.
