TAMARA GARWOOD FILES NOMINATING PETITIONS FOR PROBATE JUDGE CANDIDACY

First step on race to the August Primary Ann Arbor, MI Washtenaw County attorney Tamara Garwood on Tuesday filed her nominating petitions to be a candidate for Washtenaw County Probate Judge. Ms. Garwood filed just over 1,400 petition signatures, 400 more than required by the State in order to appear on the August ballot. The petitions have been reviewed by the Washtenaw County Clerks office and found to be valid. Ms. Garwood also filed her affidavit of identity, certifying her as a resident of Washtenaw County and eligible to run for the position of Probate Court Judge. All candidates seeking the Probate Court seat must submit signed nominating petitions circulated throughout Washtenaw County. Collecting at least 1,000 valid signatures is a daunting task, but was made possible by the help of friends and family. After filing, Tamara thanked her supporters. I wouldnt be here today without your support and encouragement, but now its my turn to help. Being a Probate Judge is all about helping the most vulnerable members of our community, and I want that responsibility , she said. Tamara Garwood has been practicing Family Law for the past 15 years, with 6 years spent as a partner in the Ann Arbor firm Baker, Stringer, and Garwood, LLP. Further news updates will be posted to the campaign website, garwoodforjudge.com.
