Analising an authentic newspaper article can help you write a good article yourself. Read the article and then discuss the questions with a partner. - What type of publication would you expect to find this article in? - Who is the intended reader of the article? - Is the article written in informal, neutral or formal register?

You are going to write an article of about 250 words for the same newspaper giving your opinion about the introduction of this type of advertising at cash dispensers. First, work with a partner and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this type of advertising. Keep notes of the ideas you come up with.

Consider: - Who is going to read your article and what style you are going to adopt? - Are you for or against this type of advertising? - Is your article going to have a heading and subheading? - How many paragraphs is it going to have? - What is the main idea of each paragraph? - How are you going to round off the article?
