Question:

Why five power of zero is one?

DEFINITION OF ZERO EXPONENT

What Is The Zero Exponent Rule? The zero exponent rule is one of the rules that will help you simplify exponents. When a number or variable raised to a power, the number or variable is called the base, while the superscript number is called the exponent or power. Zero power equals 1 because raising something to the zero power is the same as dividing a number by itself.

Examples:
The pattern shows that the

2^0: 1 2^1: 2 2^2: 4 2^3: 8 2^4: 16

different between 2^4 to 2^3 is divide by 2. Same goes to 2^3 to 2^2 and 2^2 to 2^1. So, that means 2^1 to 2^0 also divide by two. Zero power equals to one because raising something to the zero power is the same as dividing a number by itself.

Answer:
Think about this way: 5^2: 25 5^1: 5 5^0: 1 5^2: 1/25 5^1: 1/5 So, having 5^0 = 1 correctly fits the pattern, of dividing by 5 as go down. Because anything to the zero power is 1 by definition.

Conclusion:

The question Why 5^0 is equal to 1? was proved by:
