Pro#i$e a one1sentence summar" of the project &ellevue 'igh chool is in need of laptop computers for students to use 9hile they are in the counseling center to 9ork on college applications5 missing assignments5 needs assessments5 and essays. II. -escri e the entire project. Please !e specific and include supporting documentation as
attachments. 3ocumentation could include resumes for outside resource personnel5 titles5 quantities and costs of !ooks5 %3:s5 videos5 soft9are and specifications sheets for equipment requests5 !ids or price quotes.

&ellevue 'igh chool:s counseling department currently does not have any computers for students to 9ork on 9hen they are in the counseling center. "he computers that are !eing requested are the $enovo ;131e laptops5 9hich are the same computers that are in the school:s laptop carts that teachers can use in their classrooms. "he cost per laptop computer is <-1-.00 plus ta=. > am requesting the counseling department receive ten laptop computers for the students to use 9hen they are in the counseling center. &' has four full2time counselors 9ho 9ould have their students use these laptops on a daily !asis. #ttached is an e2mail from our technology specialist 9ho informed me on the cost per laptop computer.

tudents come to the counseling center every day for a 9ide range of issues. %ounselors see students not only for social/emotional issues !ut also for college applications5 letters of recommendation5 students questioning 9hat they should ma?or in5 and a num!er of other topics. 'aving computers for the students to use 9ill !enefit them in a num!er of 9ays. 4any students do not have access to a computer or the >nternet at their home. tudents could use these laptops for assignments and pro?ects that are due5 college essays and applications5 check their grades and assignments that are due5 etc. chool counselors often administer needs assessments to students to find out 9hat the ma?or issues are going on in the school. >t is very time consuming for counselors to go into each classroom and administer these needs assessments to students using a paper and pencil method. >t takes a great amount of time to go through all of this data and disaggregate each student:s needs assessment. $aptops in the counseling center 9ould allo9 the counselors to put these needs assessments on the computers. tudents could fill the needs assessments out 9hile they are in the counseling center. "his 9ould allo9 much less time to disaggregate the data using an online tool and provide the counselors 9ith more data on 9hat the ma?or issues are at &' . #ny student 9ho comes to the counseling center 9ill !e a!le to use a laptop computer if their counselor feels it is necessary and 9ill !enefit the student. "hese computers 9ill also !e !eneficial 9hen counselors are 9orking 9ith their senior students 9ho are in ?eopardy of graduating. "he counselors often pull these students out of class and have them 9ork on their assignments in the counseling center. >f the students had computers to use they 9ould !e a!le to get their missing assignments done in a timely manner.
