Department of Instruction and Teacher Education College of Education, Wardlaw 106 820 South Main Street Columbia, SC 29208 803-777-5278 buchheis@mailbox.sc.edu To Whom It May Concern: Ms. Cynthia Hill is a pleasure to have as a student in my early childhood education courses. From the first class periods, she consistently demonstrated responsibility, leadership, and a dedication to excellence in her assignments and presentations. Moreover, Cyndi is an active participant in classroom conversations; contributing to discussions with thoughtful responses and questions, which engage her peers in reflecting on key issues related to her profession. Throughout the past two semesters, she has continued to exhibit a strong work ethic and a sincere dedication to teaching. For example, in order to best meet the needs of the learners in her classroom, Cyndi actively seeks feedback about her lesson design and assessment tasks and comes prepared with specific questions she would like to address. I feel that this open-mindedness and flexibility demonstrate that she is not only receptive to constructive feedback, but also that she will work diligently to expand her knowledge and enrich the experiences in her education courses. Over the course of the past year I have had the pleasure of knowing Ms. Hill, and view her as a life-long learner who is dedicated to the profession. Because of her work ethic, dedication to continued education, and a passion for teaching I strongly recommend Cynthia as an excellent candidate for available scholarships in the College of Education. Respectfully,

Kelley Buchheister, Ph.D.
