Subject: Tens and Ones Review Standards: 1.NBT.B.

2- Number & Operations in Base Ten: Understand that the two digits of a two-digit number represent amounts of tens and ones. Objective: Given manipulatives and questions, SWBAT demonstrate what they have learned in a review about tens and ones, answering 80% of questions correct. Materials: - Tens and Ones Worksheet - Smartboard - Chart Paper Procedures: Engagement/Anticipatory Set- Bring down students to carpet group by group based on behavior. - Activate students prior knowledge by reviewing with the class as a whole what they currently know about ones and tens. Mentor- Flip to the chart paper that will currently have a ones and tens chart drawn on it. There will be a section of three tens and four ones. - Ask the students to turn and talk with a partner about how many tens and ones there are. - Ask the class how many tens and ones there are. - Write on the chart paper 3 tens is ___, 4 ones is ___ - Ask one of the students to come to the chart paper and fill in the blank. - As a class, 30 + 4 = ___ - Emphasize that 34 is the same as 3 tens and 4 ones. Guided Practice- Instruct the students to go back to their seats. - Distribute worksheet and tell them to work on it individually. Independent Application- Walk around the classroom to make sure that the students do not have any questions, if so guide and instruct them. Closure- Use the smartboard to mirror the worksheet. - Have students come up to the smartboard one by one to fill in the answers. Make sure to have students explain how they got their answer. Assessment:

- Collect and grade worksheets. Differentiation: - Have students play block game, by rolling dice and making numbers with tens and ones block. o This allows me to assist students who need extra help with the worksheet. - Pull aside a small group to the table for small group instruction on the worksheet. - Divide class into levels and have them work in groups to help one another.
