CULTURAL DIFFERENCES USING THE STORY CINDERELLA

Multicultural literature can function as a mirror or a window, giving children the opportunity to see a reflection of their own life in a book or to see into someone elses life through a book. (Mendoza & Reese, 2001) Fairy tales are a good way for children to learn because it is pretty much adult ideas turned into words that children can understand. Cinderella is usually chosen as the fairy tale to relate to because it is a well-known story and easy to change the culture of the girl and her family.
