Dear Parents, I hope everyone had a restful week. Below are the things we will be doing this week. Lets have fun learning. :) Literacy We are reading some great books: Tenny Tiny Animal , Turtles, and Tummy Trouble. In literacy this week we are creating letter T turtle craft. The children will be exploring how to segment and blend words. They will be practicing writing using white boards, bottle cap words and sand writing. We will continue to review the BLUE sight words and begin with RED words this week: and, like. Math In math the children will recognize and describe a change in common objects or movement and estimate the quantities until 5. The activities include : What is wrong with the picture?, estimation jars and fruit loop hand. Unit How the World Works, Central Idea: Exploring with our five senses leads to discovery. For learner profile for this unit we are learning to be Inquirer and Risk-Taker. In unit of inquiry this week we will be discussing how our five senses help us explore.

Home Connection: Have your child practice writing his/her name. This week is Tt ( Big line, Little line) . Share math books. Read and discuss books that teach mathematical ideas, such as counting, size relationships, shapes, and so forth.. Please always feel free to capture a picture of your child learning at home and send it via-email to me or an actual picture to share in class.
