FRIENDSHIP Model Me Kids DVD Compromise Social Story Summary by Sherry Williams, MS CCC SLP

When I have a PROBLEM, I can try to COMPROMISE with the other person. COMPROMISE means we each given in a little in order to work out a problem. COMPROMISE means each one of us gets part of what we want. NEITHER of us gets ALL of what we want.

1. I listen to other peoples opinions. Their opinions are important to them, just like my opinion is important to me.

2. I must give in sometimes.

3. I must stay calm. The other person may NOT want to compromise. Compromising is like sharing. Each person must cooperate in order to compromise to work out a problem. I can ONLY control MYSELF. I can NOT make another person compromise. I can ONLY ask them to try it!
