Unit/Topic: Mathematics Lesson # 1

Strand(s): Number Sense & Computation Level: Third Grade
Lesson Objectives:
Students will be able to recognize with 90% accuracy that the order in which two numbers are added
(commutative property) and how the numbers are grouped in addition (associative property) will not
change the sum.
Students will practice adding and subtracting whole numbers fluently within 1000 with 100% accuracy
Students will practice multiplying and dividing within 100 with 100% accuracy
Students will demonstrate fluency with multiplication facts and corresponding division facts of 0 to 10
with 95% accuracy.

the class period.
Ask students if they understand and if they have any questions. There should
be at least 10 minutes at the end of class to go over an example on the board
or help individual students while others work quietly on their homework.
