Students will watch a video showing what it
would have loo'ed li'e to hear and see patriot
soldiers sing a revolution song. )The teacher
will pla# the Sons of *i+ert# from the movie

The class will discuss what the# thin' the
meaning +ehind the two songs were. - will
as'... when was the song written and what
events were happening at that time. What is the
mood of the song. -s it angr#, sad, hopeful,
sarcastic, /o#ful, triumphant, etc.. What attitude

feelings or the general attitude of his or her
societ#.
Students will continue to wor' on their
songs. The# will edit and conference
within their groups and with the teacher.

Students will perform their songs for the
class.
Students will wor' in groups to write
their own Revolutionar# War song.
Students will anal#1e the l#rics of
&an'ee (oodle for s#m+ols and
underl#ing meanings +# completing a
graphic organi1er.
The teacher will give a mini2lesson on
the meaning and s#m+olism +ehind
man# of the Revolutionar# War songs.
