The Workforce Development is a
program for eligible Youth Directors Council
participants, ages 15-19. This program exposes students to job
readiness skills, leadership training, individual/group coaching and
career paths matching their talents and interests. PAL At Work
includes five key components: Job skills training, college
preparation, mentoring, community service, and leadership
development to ensure that program graduates have the
perspective and core skills needed for employment and success.
Community Service:
Participants will plan and execute a community service
project designed to teach them leadership skills while
improving their community.
Career Day:
Businesses from the
community will share
career information,
entrepreneurship and
strategies to have a
succesful career
College Tours:
Participants will tour local
in-state colleges and
explore different majors of
interests that can
ultimately lead to a
rewarding career of choice.
Eligibility:
Youth Directors Council Participants
Highly motivated middle-high school students
Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
Good school attendance record
Demonstrate a willingness to complete
the eight-week training program.
Resume writing skills
Job search skills
Communication skills
Interview skills
Work Readiness Skills
