    You have made me mortal.

    Every night before I slumber,
    a memory stirs.
    Your scent still lingers, soft and sweet,
    despite your absence.
    How time flies.
    How time lies.

    The moon shines in a radiant smile,
    the way you used to when you gazed at me.
    I feel the embrace of the gentle breeze
    and find the touch that Ive always missed.
    My arms reach out
    but youre not there.

    My life began the moment we met.
    You touched my heart
    and engraved your name.
    You left me with memories I
    can never forget.
    You left me with pain I can
    never regret.
    You left me.

    If only I never knew your love,
    then I wouldnt have to die each morning I
    woke without you by my side.

    If I never knew you, then I could never die,
    for I never would have lived.
