Relevance of Learning

State and Local Government

The evidence that I included is the state and local government book. This is appropriate evidence
because reading this book helped me learn how the government within the state and local
government level works. What I learned in state and local government is relevant to my criminal
justice degree, as the framework of the legislative and judicial branches can have an impact on
how decisions can be made. Specifically in legislature, they can define crimes, fix sentences and
provide funding for the criminal justice agencies in the state and local levels. While in judiciary,
different types of courts operating on a state and local level can have an impact on how cases are
handled and how the laws are interpreted.




Composition

The evidence I incorporated are the guidelines for APA that were acquired during the writing
workshops at CASA. This is an appropriate evidence for the relevance of learning in
composition as Professor. Eda has been emphasizing the usage of APA citation format on our
writing assignments, from setting up writing workshops and to her and Professor.Alaniz
discussing it in class. The usage of APA format will be essential throughout my college learning
experience as plenty of research will be done. Also, since research requires proof or citation of
evidence, one must know how to cite sources to prevent being accused of plagiarism and lose
credibility. APA format is not something to be taken for granted as most of the writing
assignments outside and within the triad requires that form of citation.
