There are introverts and extroverts and I consider myself to be introverted. An
introvert tends to be quiet, and rarely outspoken. Introverts are often times described
as being shy and tend to only speak up when forced! That being said, I truly appreciate
art. Art doesnt use words yet it is the oldest form of communication. Art is
communication, expression, and emotion. Art speaks to you visually and can take you
places you never imagined you would go. Art can lead you down an old dirt road, to
find a rustic barn waiting for you. Art can take you through history and give you glimpse
of the past. Art can take you into the future, or leave you wondering where you have
been and what you have seen. Each artist has his or her own renditions and must take
pride in the fact that, we as onlookers, might have an entirely different perspective than
that of the artist.
For me, I truly enjoyed the Western art pieces, which took me back to my
grandfathers house, in California. My Grandfather is an artist himself, and is very fond
of the Old West. He incorporates it into many of his pieces. I also enjoyed learning a
little about the Great Salt Lake, which reminded me, that I was born and raised in Utah
and have yet to actually experience the lake for myself.
I feel that my trip to the museum spoke to me without any words and reminded
me: although I will always be an Introvert, I need to step out of my comfort zone and
express myself.
