Speaking Assessment


What am I going to do?
You are going to design and give a presentation to a small group of
your peers.
Your presentation should last a minimum of 6 minutes and a
maximum of 8 minutes. If your presentation is too short or too long,
you will be penalized.
Your presentation should be done only in English.
You must have a visual aid for your presentation. You may use Prezi
or PowerPoint.
You must also have a handout to accompany your presentation.
Refer to pp. 36-37 of your textbook for help with this.
Follow the presentation instructions and complete the presentation
chart on pp. 40-41 to help you organize your ideas.
Make sure you are familiar with the rubric your teacher will be using
to evaluate your presentation.
Presentations will happen over the course of 4 class hours. Your
teacher will tell you which day and hour you will be doing your
presentation.
You should not come to class the other hours. However, you must
complete supplementary work from your teacher in order to be
marked present. If you do not complete the supplementary work, you
will be counted absent for these hours.
If you do not show up on the day and at the time which you have
been assigned to present, you will be given a 0.
