An opportunity to promote the Palouses artistic Youth
Rendezvous in the Park for Kids is a 2-day arts festival for children
established in 1992, the festival is a component of Rendezvous in
Moscow, Inc. Rendezvous for kids occurs annually to complement
Rendezvous in the Park, a 4-day concert series. Both events occur in
Moscows own East City Park.

During Rendezvous for Kids, 100 pre-registered children (5-12 of age)
and 40 volunteers begin at 8:30 a.m. each morning and engage in a
wide array of extravagant art activities and informative art workshops.
Children receive a Rendezvous t-shirt, lunch and a musical
performance during the festival. Registration fees are $35/child for both
mornings, and $20/child for one morning.
The Mission of
Rendezvous in
Moscow, Inc. is to
"Provide Moscow and
Latah County with a
quality summer art and
music festival that is
accessible, enjoyable,
and educational for all
ages and
socioeconomic
groups.

Rendezvous in the Park for Kids Mission Statement

What makes Rendezvous in the Park for Kids unique?

Rendezvous in the Park for Kids is the only summer art festival of
its kind in the Palouse region. The festival offers an opportunity
for children to be creative. The festival takes place for two long
mornings in the middle of summer each year. This year
Rendezvous in the Park for Kids takes place on Thursday July
17
th
and Friday July 18
th
. During the art festival there are 13 art
opportunities for kids to pick and choose from whatever peaks
their interests.
The Birdhouse Workshop is a great example of kids tapping into
their creative side and making an art project that they will be able
to take home to their family. In the Birdhouse Workshop
volunteer artists help the children construct their birdhouses with
pre-cut wood and hammer and nails. The following day is where
the childrens creativity takes over. They are allowed to paint the
birdhouses how ever they like. Each year Rendezvous in the Park
for Kids has atleast one art stop that the children can take their
own project home with them to show their family.

The Mural Project
Rendezvous in Moscow Inc. is thankful for our past
beneficiaries and volunteers who have comprised of members
of the business community region wide along with art docents
and event staff who have made the event possible for the past
two decades. In order to continue to provide opportunities for
young art students to obtain the basic skills necessary to
achieve in the arts funding for basic educational materials and
art projects is required. Rendezvous in the Park for Kids 2014
staff plan for a mural project workshop which requires $1,079
for the 20x 6 Tarp, $179 for a stand rental and $120 for a paint
supply kit.
These supplies needed would allow for an elaborate project
where all of the 200 children who typically attend can
participate for an impressive end result of a permanent mural
display that can be cherished forever. If the resources
necessary for this project are obtained children of all ages from
pre-k to early adolescents could work together to achieve a
common goal as outlined in the mission of Rendezvous in
Moscow Inc. Funding for art projects such as this for the
festival this calendar year are not covered through regular
donors and admission fees and will need to be gathered from
outside sources. Although staff continue constant success
utilizing recycled art supplies for crafts such as used crayons
and recycled paper opportunities for children are limited with
the supplies that Rendezvous has salvaged over the years.

Goals for Rendezvous in
the Park for Kids 2014
1. Raise the needed funds for
the featured mural project from
one if not multiple new donors
or beneficiaries.
2. Produce a piece of art that
Rendezvous in the Park for
Kids could use as an
installation piece somewhere in
town.
3. Use the installation piece to
advertise Rendezvous in the
Park for Kids.

How you can help!
No matter the donation size, Rendezvous in the Park for Kids
appreciates all forms of support towards teaching kids in the Palouse
area about art and music around the world. Since the Festival is a
non-profit organization, ALL business donations are tax deductible as
charitable giving. For more information about our donor benefit
system go to our website at www.rendezvousinthepark.com/sponsors
While a large donation can help pay for an artist around the globe to
come to the Palouse, smaller donations wont go unnoticed. The cost
for art supplies varies every year by art project, so your donation will
make a difference either through the artist able to attend or the crafts
in the kids hands.

Rendezvous in the Park for Kids is a part of the larger Rendezvous in
the Park program, and it is important that the kids feel like theyve
contributed to the greater success of the festival. In past years there
have been unifying projects the kids can work on, like painting with
basketballs on one long plastic canvas or singing as a group during
the main festival concert. These events help close the kids program
and unite it with the larger festival. With the help of your donation this
year you can be a part of creating and completing the mural project.
