1. Where did you get the ideas and materials for this unit plan? Include website
names, URLs, book titles and authors.
I got the ideas and materials for this unit plan from the Houghton Mifflin Social
Studies school and family teacher edition book. I also got some of the ideas
from our textbook, Integrating Language Arts and Social Studies by Leah
Melber and Alyce Hunter.

2. What were the easiest and most challenging parts of writing this unit plan?
The easiest part of this lesson plan was creating the lesson plans that were
guided by the Social Studies book however this was also difficult because it
was hard finding the standards to match the lesson plan. I also had trouble
integrating the textbook into the unit plan. I am still unsure if I integrated our
textbook correctly into the unit plan.

3. What suggestions do you have for yourself for the next time you write unit
plans?
A suggestion I have for myself would plan a little further in advance and
begin the unit plan sooner than I did. I felt like I was rushed and missing some
things for the requirements because I did not allow myself enough planning
time.
