Management/Accounting Internship Position


Interviewer: Tell me a few things about yourself? When will you
graduate?

Interviewee: Yes, well I am an accounting major at the University of
Texas at El Paso. My expected graduation date is spring 2016. I was
an intern for Banking United for a year as seen in my resume

Interviewer: What are some attributes you have learned in school and
while interning for Banking United.

Interviewee: Ive taken all my pre-business courses such as
Principles of Accounting, Intro to Management, Strategic
Management and Workplace writing. Which have helped me prepare
for what this internship requires. Ive learned how to do journal
entries, bank reconciliation, and learned how to write memos. I was
an intern for spring 2013 and summer of 2013 as well, and it was a
great learning experience. I learned how to perform monthly general
ledger closing journals. I also had to assist on many department
activities that relate to accounting. Such as respond to inquiries from
the CEO regarding financial result and I also had to assist in
development and implantation of new procedures within the
department.

Interviewer: What do you think is your greatest accomplishment
concerning accounting?

Interviewee: My internship opportunity and my GPA. These
accomplishments are a great representation of my work ethic.

Interviewer: Have you had any major projects during obtaining your
degree? What is the most challenging project involving accounting
that you been involved with?

Interviewee: We had to do a Practice Set for my Accounting class and
we had to do journal entries and input them on Peach-Tree. We also
had to do adjusting entries and bank reconciliation.

Interviewer: What do you enjoy most about accounting?

Interviewee: I enjoy the logic of it and the rules. I think being an

accountant if a very rewarding career it offers a lot of jobs and great
internship opportunities such as this one and its enjoyable at the
same time.

Interviewer: Why do you think we should offer you this job?

Interviewee: Because I am well qualified and I would enjoy working
for a company that sparks my interest. GreenCo has been a
company I always wanted to work for, because I respect what they
stand for. Which is why I think we would be a smart fit.
