My name is Ryan Bunda and I am a student at Seattle University working
on my Masters in School Counseling. I will be working at Mt. View Elementary for the 2013-2014 school year as a School Counseling Intern along with the School Counselor Amy Hepburn Wednesdays through Fridays.
As a School Counselor I work with your students by listening to their concerns and offering my support in whatever way I can. I also teach them how they can manage their emotions in a respectful way and how they can make and keep friendships with other students. We would be meeting for about 30 minutes once per week to check in and they WILL NOT be missing academic time.
For part of my internship class we are asked to video record our sessions with students and review them with our professor and a small number of School Counseling students so we can get feedback in improving ourselves as counselors. These tapes are strictly confidential and will only be shown to my professor as well as my classmates. After sharing, tapes will be destroyed. Attached is the consent form that allows us to video record these sessions.
If you think School Counseling would be beneficial to your child please check one of the boxes below. Thank you and if you have any questions please feel free to email me (Ryan.Bunda@highlineschools.org) or the School Counselor, Amy Hepburn (Amy.Hepburn@highlineschools.org) or call 206-631-4500 and ask to speak with the School Counselor
Check one: I would like my child to receive school counseling and give permission to record sessions (signature required on consent form attached) I do not want my child receiving school counseling I would like my child to receive school counseling but without video recordings of sessions
