HIV(human immunodeficiency virus) and AIDS ( Acquired

immunodeficiency syndrome) are infections which attack the

bodys immune system, severely impacting the bodys ability to
fight off other infections.

HIV is the earlier stage of AIDS. When the bodys T cells are
bombarded by the virus, the body succumbs to the infection
creating AIDS.

HIV/AIDS is an incurable Virus , but can be treated.

this virus affects a multitude of people around the globe. This
virus is rampant in poorer parts of the world such as Africa, Asia
and Eastern Europe.

It is a disease which allows those who contract it to live a normal
life if treated properly.

HIV/AIDS is the result of two types of viruses being spread through numerous
methods. Some examples include :
. Sexual intercourse ( in semen)
.Sharing of needles during drug usage (carried in blood)
. The transfusion of HIV/AIDS infected blood.

Once the HIV/AIDS infection has entered the body, the retrovirus that causes
acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), infects and destroys CD4+
cells( White blood cells essential for immunity) . As a consequence of the
infection destroying white blood cells, the host immune responses which fight
off infections and pathogens are weakened, causing infected patients to
succumb to infections which opportunistically infect people.

Because of the destruction of white blood cells, the body is deemed unable
to fight off the HIV/ AIDS alone. Appropriate medication and treatment is
required to maintain the infections state and to reduce the chances of the
infection killing off more white blood cells.

HIV is a virus which feeds on White blood cells (CD4) and
replicates at an astounding rate. If left untreated ,it can cause
death.
The HIV virus is untreatable and cannot be fought off by the
bodys immune system. Once the infection is introduced to the
body, the virus multiplies rapidly, increasing the rate of white
blood cell ( CD4) loss.
This loss of CD4 causes the immune system to malfunction,
potentially killing the patient if a pathogen invades and attacks
the body as there will be nothing to counteract the virus.
The body begins to detect HIV/AIDS within a month of
contraction. The body begins to experience flu like symptoms
and the bodily degradation depends on the state of the
immune system. If the immune system is strong, it will take longer
to notice any major issues caused by the virus.

Within 2-4 weeks of being infected, your body
will attempt to ward off the virus.

You may encounter flu-like symptoms such as
dizziness, coughing, heat flushes and vomiting.

Later stages of HIV/AIDS, if left untreated can
display such symptoms as Rapid weight loss,
production of blisters on the skin, Depression,
memory loss and extreme fatigue. These
symptoms may occur after 10 years of
contraction.
Because there is no cure for HIV/AIDS,
only preventative measures can be
taken to ensure safety from the virus.
Preventative measures such as safe sex,
not sharing needles and using artificial
blood will reduce the chances of
contracting the HIV/ AIDS infection.

Even if you have HIV/AIDS, the virus can
be control
