Color blindness is a sex-linked trait that is most commonly inherited by the
mother. In order to get the disorder, you must receive homozygous recessive
alleles for the trait. The symptoms of this differ with anything to mixing certain
colors with others or to complete color blindness where everything is only
different shades of grey. Many different well-known celebrities have this, such
as Mark Twain and Keanu Reeves. Unfortunately, there is no cure for color
blindness, but there are some treatments to help with distinguishing colors.
Because both of the parents are either a carrier or have the disorder, the chances of
them having offspring with the disorder are 50%. According to the punnett squares, if
they have a child without the disorder then they will still be carriers, meaning that
they wont have it but can still pass it on to their own children.
