Male:Color Blind Color blindness is a sex-linked trait that is most commonly inherited by the mother. In order to get the disorder, you must receive homozygous recessive alleles for the trait. The symptoms of this differ with anything to mixing certain colors with others or to complete color blindness where everything is only different shades of grey. Many different well-known celebrities have this, such as Mark Twain and Keanu Reeves. Unfortunately, there is no cure for color blindness, but there are some treatments to help with distinguishing colors. Because both of the parents are either a carrier or have the disorder, the chances of them having offspring with the disorder are 50%.
