people o$ld admit this. 'hen e thin( o# the Goodill nine times o$t o# ten e thin(
o# the place ere the poor people go. At the end o# the da" that statement is sad )$t also
ver" tr$e. *t is 2014 and the times have de#initel" changed #or this compan".
+riving along no "o$ can almost see a Goodill store in ,$st a)o$t ever" area o#
the cit". The stores either sit o## to themselves or in small pla-as ith other )$sinesses.
'ith their )ig )l$e and hite signs plastered on the )$ilding the" are hard to miss. .$ge
glass indos also ma(e $p the str$ct$re o# these )$ildings. /eca$se o# the lo interest
that a lot o# $s have shopping at a store li(e this, the" are g$aranteed past $p 0$ite o#ten.
'ith a glare #rom the o$tside indo, * co$ld onl" p$t together part o# hat *
as e1pecting to see. 'al(ing thro$gh the sliding glass door * 0$ic(l" did a scan once
inside. 2ver to the right ere a ton o# clothing rac(s, ranging #rom small to large. At "o$r
le#t there ere cash registers and #$rther )ac( set shelving $nits. 3a(ing m" a" over to
the #irst emplo"ee to )e seen, * as(ed to spea( ith the manger.
4/ridgett can "o$ please come to the #ront,5 is then heard over the lo$d spea(er.
2nce signed in and read" to go, e head )ac( to the #ront. &o )eing a)le to get a good
glance o# the store, it as )are. 2n ,$st a)o$t ever" all there as some t"pe o# item #or
sale. 2## to the right side there ere #o$r gigantic dressing rooms ith ceiling to #loor
mirrors. 'ith directions given, * start to slide hangers across the rac(s and #i1 clothing
that had )een disheveled #rom )rosing.
!tarting at the #ront o# the store is )a)ies, )ig (ids, and ,$nior clothing.
Ever"thing is categori-ed #rom small, medi$m, large, etc. As the start o# re6hanging
clothing in this sea o# rain)o )egins, * recogni-e some pop$lar name )rands. Li-
Clai)orne, &e 7or( 8 Compan", and 2ld &av" are a #e that stic( o$t. Ever" once in a
hile there is a clin(ing noise #rom hangers hitting the #loor.
'ith the loops o# the hangers rapped in m" #ingers, it9s onto the ne1t rac( o#
clothes. 'hen thin(ing o$tside o# m" tho$ghts the )ac(gro$nd noise consisted o# $p )eat
m$sic. Loo(ing aro$nd m" attention as o#ten ca$ght )" these three #lat screens T:s,
hich advertised s$ccess stories #rom people, ho had done the Goodill program. &ot
going to lie, the T:s thre me #or a loop. This as no starting to #eel more li(e a
mainstream store. !oa(ing this all in m" )rain is de#initel" moving a mile a min$te.
