Education:
He graduated from Crestwood High School.

Earned a bachelors degree in Criminology from Madonna University.

Earned a Masters in Public Administration at University of Michigan.

Jason graduated from the Police Academy in 1995 near the top of his class.

He was employed with the Special Weapons And Tactics- or
SWAT- unit.

He also worked for the undercover units in Dearborn.

Also the Dearborn Heights Police Department as a Corporal

Jasons Priorities
Jason was inspired so much by his father that
he kept the same badge number that his
father had number 7.

Jason's Death
Shot by gunman.

The next morning he was taken off life
support.
Jasons Last Moments
Makowski was responding to a man walking around with a gun, while arguing
with garbage workers on the intersection of Joy and Beech Daly Roads.

Once he and the other officers arrived on scene, the suspect started firing.

While attempting to take cover behind a neighbors house Makowski was shot.

I am so glad that you came into Starbucks (where I work) to bring me food right before you got the call to go to
scene of the gunman. Little did either of us know that those would be our last moments together. But just as we always
did, we left each other saying the proper goodbye. You said "I'm sorry this asshole is ruining our date, I love you," and
gave me a kiss.

What Happened?
The gunman continued to fire at Makowski, causing an officer to shoot and kill the
suspect with a rifle.

Once the scene was secure, officers got Makowski and sent him to a local hospital,
then transferring him- by helicopter- to the U Of M Hospital in Ann Arbor.

Surrounded by his family and his girlfriend, Jason succumbed to his wounds and
died the next morning- May 25
th
, 2007, joining his father, Frank Makowski.
