Viking Longships aka Dragon Ships

Notes and Theory

That the hull of the ship may have been leather clad.
That the dragon head may have:
Main point- Contained a reed plate which reverberated by wind pressure and produced sound.
(Note, that in Old European Code the Dragon appears to be, at least in part, a reference to sound,
and possibly gas).
Channelled sound through its length, possibly in the manner of a wood wind instrument.

Produced and channelled sound, and used the sound waves to affect the water around the ship.
Channelled air current to affect the water around the ship. With the effect of displacing water ahead
of the ship or by propelling the ship forward.

The air current would be primarily generated by the ships movement, generated by sail or oar.

Air may have been directed under a waterproofed leather hull which covered the wooden hull.
There would thereby be an air layer between the leather hull and the wooden hull.
