Authentic Pizza and Hot Wings: ‘The Slice’ in Redondo Beach
There are times when
the craving for pizza gets
to be too much. Then I
must have at least one
slice, thin crust is pre-
ferred. That is exactly
what I got at a recent
visit to The Slice in
Redondo Beach. This
branch of the fledgling
local chain is run by
Franchisee Riley Chan.
He knows how to make
great New York pizza.
And not only is there
great pie, but an appetiz-
ing menu of wings is
offered as well.
Former New York
dwellers and other afi-
cionados of thin crust
pizza will really appreci-
ate this one. The crust is
cooked perfectly, with
just the right amount of
crunch. The cheese
blends well with the zesty
tomato sauce to create a
taste sensation.
A variety of toppings
are featured including
everything from mush-
rooms to pineapple.
Sausage is done a little
differently. Instead of
serving it in ground
pieces, as most pizzerias
do, The Slice cuts the
meat into thin strips, giv-
ing patrons more bang for
their buck and a lot more
to nibble on.
Pizza sizes range from
12 to a whopping 16
