The Cold War

How the Cold War started:
Theory #1: The U.S. and the U.S.S.R. couldnt agree on what a rebuilt
Europe should be like.
Theory #2: There was just a lot of tension from World War I and as
more and more things were added, it just exploded and they got
mad at each other.
Cuban Missile Crisis
The Cuban Missile Crisis is when the U.S. was spying on Cuba and
discovered they had missiles aimed directly at America.
Long Term Consequences
Consequence #1: Countries had to decide which side to join. Sides
that were allied with both countries had to choose which side they
decided was right.
Consequence #2: The world lived in fear of nuclear attack for nearly
30 years. The world wasnt sure what was going to happen so they
were scared the war would start again.
North Atlantic Treaty Organization
NATO is an organization formed during the Cold War that allies
Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg,
Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and the United
States.
Warsaw Pact
The Warsaw Pact is an alliance formed during the Cold War that
allies the Soviet Union, Poland, Hungary, East Germany,
Czechoslovakia, Bulgaria, and Romania.
How the Cold War impacted
Vietnam: The U.S. dropped bombs, but not all of them exploded
on impact, leaving them in fear that they would explode at any
moment, killing them all.
Afghanistan: They were major allies with the US so they got
targeted.
Korea: .The Cold War affected Korea because it caused them to
split into North and South Korea and go to war with each other.
They are still split today.
Duck and Cover!
Duck and Cover is when an A-Bomb goes off near you, you slam
yourself against the nearest wall and kneel down and cover your
neck.
