Our Journey

WHY THIS TOPIC?

We both saw ourselves having a career in the medical field and felt like nursing fit our criteria as
for what we wanted in our future job. We initially tried to pursue a mentorship in nursing, but
because of legal reasons and patient confidentiality, that was not possible. We researched
different aspects of nursing and the hospital environment. As we got deeper into our research, we
became interested in the designs of different waiting rooms and in how we could satisfy patients
with the best waiting room possible.

MILESTONES:
December Attempted to pursue a mentorship in nursing with multiple failed
attempts
January through February Technical paper written, critiqued, and revised
End of February Gave up on mentorship and decided on design project, began
researching different waiting room styles
March First poster rough draft, Revit image drafts finished
April Created career information, brochure, final Revit images completed
May Interviewed Veronicas uncle (Architect) for any additional information
he could provide, completed final poster for presentation

WE PLAN TO:
Present to an Elementary/Middle School over the topic of nursing.
